Introducing Playschool

I've had a busy summer and so I decided to take August off to regroup. Now that it's September, I'm excited to get a Playschool group going for this academic year, 2018-2019. We'll start Tuesday, September 11, 2018!

What is Playschool?
Playschool is a cross between a play group and a preschool. Right now, I have it scheduled for Tuesday mornings from 9:30 - 11:30.  It'll have many components of a preschool, including Circle Time, Activity and Outdoor Time, but it will hold a looser overall structure with more unstructured play time and is only 2 hours, like a typical Playgroup.
  • Circle Time - Sit together and introduce a topic, read a book and sing songs
  •  Activity - Either a craft or a game that goes along with our topic of the day
  • Outdoor Time - free play outside on the playground, sandbox, basketball court and grassy area
How much does it cost?
I don't want to set a specific price for a couple of reasons.  My first reason for setting Playschool up is to provide my 4 year old son with fun activities and time with friends.  Another reason is for me to keep my name and preschool out there in the community to ease my transition when I start up with my formal Preschool again after my 8 month old grows up a little more. I want to keep my expectations for this a little low, so I don't stress about it. Also if personal needs come up, I want to be able to cancel Playschool without feeling guilty.  So all that being said, I'm offering this Playgroup to anyone for free. If anyone wants to contribute or donate something towards supplies or my time, I would gladly accept! Likewise, if someone wanted to work out an exchange of some kind, I'm open to ideas.  So although I am not formally charging a set amount, any contribution, like $10 per visit, art/craft supplies, or snacks to share would be greatly appreciated!

Is there any certain age range required?
I will have my 4 1/2 year old and my infant son hanging around so the activities will be geared towards 4 to 5 year olds, and with a babe in arms I'll be limited in my ability to help younger children who might need extra help completing tasks. But again, this is very casual so I'm not going to put specific requirements out there but mature 3 year olds to 5 year olds is probably a good range.

Is there a specific number of spots available?
No. I think things will get pretty crazy with more than 7 preschoolers if there aren't any other adults so if there is that much interest, I might organize a rotation between moms to stay and help out, or I might just cap it there on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Are moms supposed to stay?
Nope. Moms are always welcome to stay and help/play but I generally expect that most moms will just drop off their child and enjoy some personal time!

How do I register?
Surprise, Surprise, I'm trying to keep this really casual, so there is no formal registration. Just call or text or email me that you're interested and we can take it from there.

MY ONLY REQUEST IS THAT YOU TELL ME AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU PLAN ON BRINGING YOUR CHILD. I'd like to have a head count for who is going to be there, so I can plan accordingly. Naturally, last minute cancellations because of sickness or some other emergency are totally fine. Please just let me know about a day before hand if your child will be coming or not.
